I believe that Kane ties up Max like that because he doesn't trust Max, for he is INSANE from being in prison why else would he tie up HIS OWN SON.
ReplyDeleteLoretta helped Max because she realised tha Kane was crazy. She knew that he wasn't the same since he'd been in prison. so to avoid him getting away with kiddnaping (even though it's his own son) she tried to help Max escape.

ReplyDeleteI think that Killer Kane is acting that way because he doesn't trust Max. I think Killer Kane tells Max all those lies because he wants Max to trust him so they can be a "crime team;" but I don't think Max trusts him.
I think Loretta tries to help Max because she realizes that Killer Kane is different since prison, which it states in the book. It also says in the book that she doesn't think a man should tie up his son like that.

ReplyDeleteI think that sometimes, Kane really cares about Max. For example, when he strokes his fingers through Maxwell's hair. But, when Killer Kane doesn't like the way something is happening, he can not control himself. But, I do feel angry at times when Kane is kind of abusing his child.
I think that Loretta is a very nice and respnsible woman. She sees how kane treats Max, and knows thaa it is not right. Also, she seems like she sometimes cares about Max.

ReplyDeleteI think Killer Kane does this because he doesn't want his son to be taken away from him, again. I think he ties Max up because he can't trust him. Killer Kane can't trust him because he knows that if you were kid napped by your father or anyone you would try to run away. It also says in the book in the earlier chapters that Killer Kane says he can't trust Max.
There isn't really any evidence from the book about Loretta because no one really saw this coming. It was a major change in the book. I think she helped him because she felt bad and knew what Killer Kane would do if he got mad. I think she was just trying to some what save him. I think she was trying to prevent something happening like what happened with Max' s mom.
I think that Killer Kane is psycho. What kind of lunatic kidnaps his own son, ties him up, and feeds him Cornflakes in water? That's really bad parenting. I think Loretta realized that and that's why she let him go. It's like pulling a prank. You can have fun, but you have to realize when you've gone too far, and that's what Loretta did.

I think that the way Kane treats Max is horrible because Kane already messed up his life so why take your own son with you.
ReplyDeleteI think Lorreta helps Max because she knew that Kane was a bad man and that Max will be on the road all the time so he would not be able to live a normal life.

ReplyDeleteI think that the way Max's dad treats him is kinda good because Kane makes Max respect him. But I also don't think it's good because Kane kidnapped his own son!!
I think Loretta helped Max because she felt sorry for him because he was being kidnapped,gagged, and pushed all around moving from place to place by his dad.
I agree with Noah, Kane treats his son like that because he thinks he is untrustworthy. He heard so many rumors about max being dumb and he says he isn't but treats him like he is. In the book Kane says that once they get onto the road he'll get smarter.
ReplyDeleteOn page 126 it says that Kan isn't the man he was before. She also doesn't think it's right to tie up your own kid, no matter if he is trustworthy or not. So that's why she helps him.She just helped him a little too late....
I think that Killer Kane is a lunatic. I also agree with Alex B, Alex G, and Noah. He can't trust his son and he dosen't want to Max to be taken away again. I also think that Kane is a bit over protective of Max!
ReplyDeleteLorreta is (I think) trying to be a nice,and caring person as it is Christmas Day. But she thinks her plan is fool proof, but as you all no Killer Kane is ready for every little thing.
I think that the way that Kenny treats Max is really bad. When he ties him up (page 110) he says that he just doesn't wan’t Max to run away. I think the real reason is that Kenny didn’t want Max to tell the cops that he got kidnapped by Kenny. I also think that Kenny is a really bad role-model. He is rude to everyone including cops, Loretta and Iggy Lee. I also agree with Ryan said, Kenny’s life is already messed up, so why take your son with you.

(pages 116 and 121) Loretta probably thinks that a way to get back at Kenny is to betray him. The other reason that Loretta helps Max is because She doesn’t wan’t to get in trouble with the cops.

ReplyDeletePart 1 The way Kenny Kane treats his son is just terrible. As I recall on page 110-111 he doesn't think it's necessary to really runaway. Like Luke had said. Killer Kane is a cruel man, who doesn't care about anyone. You think he has a soft side for his son, right? NO! What kind of father ties up his innocent yet huge son? That's just a rude,mean,and odd thing to do. I feel that isn't the greatest... You know what it's the worst thing to do! As I was reading, Kenny Kane gave me a hard time reading. But, I wanted to know what happened next. What terrible things he did!
Part 2
The reason that Loretta is being helpful is because Killer Kane is back. He's being really rude,and she wants to avoid the cops. Who would want to deal with cops? No one. Loretta is just getting back at him/revenge is to use his son against him. Though, like I said he doesn't have a soft spot for Max apparently. Or she's betraying him.

ReplyDeleteThe way Killer Kane treats his son is just horrific. Tying him up in an old lady’s chair that smells like perfume……. terrible. I think that Killer Kane duct tapes Max’s mouth and ties him to a chair and puts the rope on his waist because he’s scared that Max might run away and tell the cops that his father kidnapped him. Anyway, Max’s father just isn’t nice at all. Even though your son is pretty big it doesn’t mean you have the right to tie him up. It just shows that Max’s father doesn’t respect or trust his son.
Part 2:
Why does Loretta help Max? Great question. I think Loretta helps Max because lately Killer Kane hasn’t been to nice to her and Iggy. So she gets back at Killer Kane by helping his son get away from his psychotic dad. She also wants revenge so to do that she uses Max. Well, not really use more like help Max. On top of that she doesn’t want to get involved with the police.

ReplyDeletePart 1: How I feel about Max's dad is scared. I mean who would tie up their own son. Thats just wrong. Also Max's dad thinks Max is going to tell on the cops and thats why he would duck tape his mouth and tie him to an old womens chair with a purfume sent on it. Gross right.
Part 2 : Why I think Loretta is helping out Max is because Max's dad also hasn't been being friendly latly. Like he is afraid that Loretta is going to go tell on the cops of what he has been doing. Loretta just is upset and wants pay back so she going to help out Max. I hope they end up calling the cops.

ReplyDelete1. I think Max's father treats him like any criminal would treat their hostage. Like they are nobody. On page 110 he ties him up. That is just child abuse.
2. I think killer kane hasn't been nice to her or Iggy. She could have thought it was wrong so she helped. I would do the same. I wouldn't like it at all.

ReplyDeletePart 1 I don't think he is a great father. One reason is because he tied his own son ,Max, up. I am thinking about that and actually he did that to keep him tied up until he could trick Max into thinking that he didn't kill his mom. Which by the way is a very unfatherly thing to do. Another thing that he did was strangle Max and Loretta Lee and she was trying to untie Max.
Part 2 As I said in part one Loretta tried to save Max. The reason was because she and her husband, Iggy felt sorry that he was tied up really strongly by his dad. they say it's unlike him to do that. So she cut Max lose while Iggy distracts him. That plan didn't work so Kevin shot him in the eyes with vinegar.
Part 1: I don't think that the way Kenny treats Max is how you would treat your when you just got out of jail. I know that Kenny thinks that Max is not trustworthy, but he doesn't need to tie him up to an old lady's chair and put duct tape on his mouth so that he couldn't scream and yell for the cops to come and take him back to jail. Like Milanna said that's just not right.
ReplyDeletePart 2: I agree with Luke. The reason that Loretta helped Max is because Kenny has been rude to her and Iggy lately so she was just trying to get back at him. (Pages 116 and 121) By getting back at him she thought that betraying him would be the way to do it. I also agree with Milanna. Killer Kane is afraid of Loretta calling the cops and getting him taken back to jail.

ReplyDeleteI think Killer Kane(kenny)doesn't treat Max very well. If I had just gotten out of jail and went to see my son/daughter I would treat them with kindness not tie them with a rope. I don't even think Killer Kane(Kenny) even cares about his son.
Question 2:
I think that Lorreta helps Max because she thinks its not right to kidnap your son,tie them up, and put them in a dark celler. I also think that Loretta is helping Max escape because she has a kind heart.
